Lucifer showrunners sign on for season 6, but Tom Ellis yet to close his deal

March 2, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Last month it was revealed that talks were underway at Netflix about a possible sixth season of the DC/Vertigo comic book adaptation Lucifer, and now comes word from TV Line that showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have closed their deals to return for another season.

It had previously been announced that the upcoming fifth season would be the Lucifer’s last, but the show has proven to be extremely successful for the streaming service, which saved it from cancellation by Fox in 2018 when it picked it up for a fourth season.

Before fans get too excited at this point, TV Line does stress that Tom Ellis is yet to agree a deal to return as Lucifer Morningstar for the sixth season. However, “all sides are expecting a positive outcome” and its thought to be only a matter of time before the sixth season gets the official green light.
