Macaulay Culkin and Daniel Brühl join Rosamund Pike in Rich Flu

May 30, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Back in February it was announced that Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) will be starring in Rich Flu, a pandemic thriller from director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia (The Platform) and producer Pablo Larrain (Spencer), and now we have two more additions to the cast of the film.

As reported by Variety, Macaulay Culkin (American Horror Story: Double Feature) and Daniel Bruhl (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) are both set to appear in as-yet-unrevealed roles in what is described as “a high concept social thriller.”

Scripted by Gaztelu-Urrutia and his The Platform co-writer Pedro Rivero and David Desola, Rich Flu takes place in a world “in which a deadly disease starts killing off the richest people on the planet. At first it strikes the billionaires, then the multi-millionaires, and so on. With the whole world panicking and headed for collapse, people are trying to flood the market with assets they no longer want, in hopes of saving their skin.”

Rich Flu marks Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia second film after his directorial debut The Platform, which was a smash hit for Netflix in 2020, becoming one of the streamer’s most-watched original films.
