3311 Productions has announced that it is partnering with Argent Pictures to develop and produce a movie based on Esta Spalding’s popular 2016 children’s novel Look Out For The Fitzgerald-Trouts, which is being scripted by Semi Chellas (Mad Men, Ophelia).
Look Out for the Fitzgerald-Trouts is the story of a family of four kids, living in a contemporary Swiss Family Robinson dream on a tropical island, who set out to find themselves a home, and end up saving the world.
“I’m so excited to see my beloved Fitzgerald-Trout characters take on new life in the capable hands of Semi Chellas and the 3311 and Argent teams,” said Spalding. “We’re all of the same page in wanting to make a super entertaining movie that speaks to the power of children to make the world a better place.”
“We are continually looking for stories that will resonate with a cinematic audience and found that with Esta Spalding’s novel” said 3311’s Jen Dana. “We are proud to partner with Argent Pictures to bring these plucky self-reliant kids onto the big screen and show the world how much heart they have.”
“We are excited to be adapting the rich and fantastical world that Esta has so vividly created,” added Argent’s Jill Ahrens. “This unique and empowering story, which is now in Semi Chellas’s highly gifted screenwriting hands, has universal themes that will resonate with children and parents of all ages and make for a great communal viewing experience. We see tremendous potential for this dynamic P.I. and look forward to an exciting collaboration with Mark, Ross and the 3311 team.”
