Malin Akerman in talks to join Dwayne Johnson’s Rampage in villain role

March 16, 2017 by Ricky Church

Movement is starting to pick up on the adaptation of the 1980s arcade game Rampage starring Dwayne Johnson, and New Line may be close to filling out its main cast. Just yesterday the film cast Jack Quaid and Matt Gerald and now The Hollywood Reporter is saying the Malin Akerman has entered talks to play the film’s villain.

If a deal is reached, Akerman will play the head of a tech company that created the three monsters Johnson is trying to stop. The movie will see the three monsters featured in the arcade game – a giant gorilla, crocodile and werewolf – unleashed and go on a rampage throughout a city with only Johnson’s animal loving hero to stop them.

Rampage reunites Dwayne Johnson with his Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and San Andreas director Brad Peyton, and also features Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Malin Akerman (Billions), Marley Shelton (Solace), Jake Lacy (The Office), Breanne Hill (Incarnate), P.J. Byrne (Big Little Lies), Jack Quaid (Vinyl) and Matt Gerald (Daredevil).

Rampage will start filming next month and is set for release on April 20th 2018.
