Mario Kart 8 to get Zelda-themed motorbike in DLC

October 17, 2014 by Tom Powter

Have you ever wanted to see Link riding a motorbike? No, neither have I really – but he looks damn cool doing it…

The motorbike seems to be themed around the Master Sword, though also seems to incorporate a number of things that make Link so iconic – the bike is shaped like a horse for instance (though I, like many others, lament the lack of an actual Epona-themed bike) and the Hylian shield is present on the side of the vehicle.

All in all the design of the bike looks totally epic and it joins Captain Falcon’s Blue Falcon racer as one of the cooler looking additions to the game through the DLC.

The DLC for Mario Kart 8 is coming in two waves – the first will introduce Link to the racing series, as well as Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach. Multiple new tracks are included, featuring ones from F-Zero and possibly even Excitebike. The first piece of DLC arrives in November, while the second, featuring the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing, as well as Dry Bowser, will arrive considerably later in May 2015.

Each pack contains three characters, four vehicles and eight tracks and are priced at $7.99 a piece or $11.99 when purchased together.
