Mark Ruffalo promises bigger role for The Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron

June 5, 2014 by Gary Collinson

With The Incredible Hulk absent from Marvel’s Phase Two line-up, we’ve already heard from Kevin Feige to expect plenty of the Green Goliath (and Hawkeye) when Joss Whedon reassembles Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and now Bruce Banner himself Mark Ruffalo has echoed those sentiments during a chat with Total Film:

“[My role’s] even bigger than last time, and it’s more complex and it has more layers and a bit more arc. I’m really tripping on the technology of this motion-capture stuff… now I just completely embrace it and see it as this other exciting place we can go as performers.”

So, good news for fans of The Hulk, and with Andy Serkis offering some assistance to Ruffalo when it comes to motion-capture, there’s surely a good chance that the Jade Giant could one again steal the show…

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release in the UK on April 24th 2015 and North America on May 1st 2015, and sees Marvel veterans Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Paul Bettany (JARVIS / The Vision) joined in the cast by new MCU additions Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2) as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen (Godzilla) as the Scarlet Witch, James Spader (The Blacklist) as Ultron, Thomas Kretschmann (Dracula) as Baron Strucker and Josh Brolin (Oldboy) as Thanos.
