Marvel Studios planning to release three or four movies a year, according to Disney’s Alan Horn

October 31, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Although as an audience we have been treated to the Infinity Saga – a 23-film collaboration which establishes the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Marvel Studios isn’t expecting to slow down its output anytime soon.

In a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Disney Chief Creative Officer Alan Horn not only confirmed that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will be making three or four movies per year, but he believes audiences won’t grow tired of the franchise.

“The answer is no. If the film has a compelling storyline, if it has heart and humour, two things that I insist on, and it’s terrifically well executed, I think there is an audience. But who knows?”

Alan Horn continued to discuss Feige’s output and how audiences will be treated to a variety of stories that cohesively connect to the rest of the ongoing series of films.

“It is long. But Kevin Feige is working away. He will be making three or four a year. And they are very different from one another, so we’ll see.”

We are already aware of Marvel Studios’ plans for (a slower) 2020 and 2021 with Black Widow and The Eternals releasing in 2020 followed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Spider-Man 3, and Thor: Love and Thunder, all of which are set for release in 2021.

Are you looking forward to the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Do you think it’s a good idea to continue releasing three or four films a year? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…
