The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Magic Mike XXL star Matt Bomer has joined the ensemble cast of Antoine Fuqua’s remake of The Magnificent Seven.
Fuqua directs Denzel Washington (Training Day), Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), Ethan Hawke (Boyhood), Wagner Moura (Elite Squad), Haley Bennett (The Equalizer), Byung-hun Lee (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Luke Grimes (Fifty Shades of Grey) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil) in the new version of the classic 1960 film which starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn and Charles Bronson.
The remake has been written by Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective) and John Lee Hancock (Saving Mr. Banks) and sees a local woman (Bennett) seeking out a group of gunslingers to help protect her small town for a group of bandits.
