Matthew Lillard joins Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again season 2

March 1, 2025 by Ricky Church

Though Daredevil: Born Again is just a few days away from its series premiere, Marvel Studios is already getting prepared for its second season with production beginning next week. To that end, Marvel has announced its first piece of casting news with Deadline reporting that Scream‘s Matthew Lillard is joining the series.

Lillard’s role is being kept under wraps for the time being, but he will star alongside the returning Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Born Again is a continuation of Netflix’s Daredevil series. Both Cox and D’Onofrio have already made appearances in the MCU with Cox making guest appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk and D’Onofrio in Hawkeye and Echo.

Lillard will be making a grand return to the Scream franchise in Scream 7 as Stu Macher, though in what capacity is unknown considering Stu’s fate in the original Scream. He will be seen next in Mike Flanagan’s The Life of Chuck as well as Universal’s Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel.

In “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

The series stars Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer and Jon Bernthal.

Daredevil: Born Again streams on Disney+ from March 4th.
