Maya Hawke joins mother Uma Thurman in The Kill Room

May 23, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Stranger Things star Maya Hawke is set to star alongside her mother Uma Thurman in the upcoming dark comedy thriller The Kill Room.

Directed by Nicol Paone (Friendsgiving) from a script by Jonathan Jacobson, the film sees Hawke and Thurman starring alongside the latter’s Pulp Fiction co-star Samuel L. Jackson, along with Joe Manganiello (Zack Snyder’s Justice League).

As per Entertainment Weekly, The Kill Room revolves around “a hitman, Reggie (Manganiello); his boss (Jackson); an art dealer (Thurman); and their money-laundering scheme that accidentally turns Reggie into a public sensation. The turn of events forces Thurman’s character to play the art world against the underworld.”

The Kill Room will mark the first time that Maya Hawke has worked with her mother, although she did appear alongside her father Ethan Hawke in The Good Lord Bird and the two are set to play father and daughter in the coming-of-age comedy Revolver from Andrew Stanton (Finding Dory). She will next be seen in Stranger Things’ fourth season, which premieres this coming Friday.
