Michael B. Jordan flattered by Superman rumours

April 28, 2021 by Matt Rodgers

With Warner Bros. hiring J.J. Abrams and writer Ta-Nehisi Coates to potentially reboot the Man of Steel as a black Superman film, fans have once again been linking one of Marvel’s finest with a switch to the DC universe, and it seems Michael B. Jordan is flattered by the idea.

While doing the publicity rounds for Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse, the Creed star was asked by Jake’s Takes whether he was actively campaigning for the role in red-and-blue, to which Jordan responded “No. Like I said, you hear the whispers, rumours, and stuff like that, and it’s just a compliment.” He continued “I appreciate people that think about me in that type of way for these roles. I don’t really have anything more to kinda give on that, other than its just flattering, and I appreciate it, but whoever they get, or if it goes that way, I think it will be an interesting thing to see.”

Ta-Nehisi Coates has written several books, with his 2015 book Between The World and Me adapted as a documentary for HBO. He is also known for recently writing runs of the Captain America and Black Panther comics for Marvel. Abrams previously wrote Superman: Flyby, a reboot of the Superman franchise before WB hired Bryan Singer to direct 2006’s Superman Returns.
