Mila Kunis is Netflix’s Luckiest Girl Alive

February 23, 2021 by Ricky Church

Netflix has cast Mila Kunis (The Spy Who Dumped Me) to lead its adaptation of Jessica Knoll’s novel Luckiest Girl Alive from director Mike Barker (The Handmaid’s Tale).

Luckiest Girls Alive follows “Ani FaNelli, a sharp-tongued New Yorker who appears to have it all: a sought-after position at a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe, and a dream Nantucket wedding on the horizon. But when the director of a crime documentary invites her to tell her side of the shocking incident that took place when she was a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani is forced to confront a dark truth that threatens to unravel her meticulously crafted life.”

Knoll will adapt the screenplay herself and will serve as an executive producer. Kunis will produce through Orchard Farm Productions alongside Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea and Jeanne Snow and Erik Feig and Lucy Kitada for Picturestart.

Barker was recently announced to direct the pilot for Netflix’s anticipated adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s classic comic series The Sandman.
