Mission: Impossible – Fallout tracking franchise best opening weekend

July 13, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt returns for his latest impossible mission later this month, and according to tracking estimates, the spy sequel Mission: Impossible – Fallout is looking to set a domestic opening weekend record for the franchise.

Box office projects for Fallout are suggesting that the film is looking at a North American opening weekend of $60 million, although other estimates range from between $48 million to $65 million.

Should Fallout manage $60 million (or better), it will set a new record for the series, currently held by Mission: Impossible II on $57.8 million. The previous instalment, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, managed $55.5 million.
