More details revealed for Gundam Breaker 4

June 19, 2024 by Andrew Newton

With Gundam Breaker 4’s August release date drawing ever closer, Bandai Namco has unveiled more details about the story and characters.  Gamers on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam) will be able to get their hands on this next title in the epic series on 29th August.

In Gundam Breaker 4, players dive into the latest evolution of the Gunpla Battle Simulator, the GUNPLA Battle Blaze: Beyond Borders, which is just entering a beta test phase.  As the main protagonist, players will meet a varied cast of characters and take part in epic missions where they will hack, slash and shoot their way through hordes of enemy mechs and breaking off parts for upgrades, all while testing the new sim. Between these missions, players will have access to a mecha garage where they can customise their creations with paints, decals and more.

Characters that the player will meet in this battle simulator include Tao, a very knowledgeable but inexperienced user with a love for SD Gundam, Lin, a beginner with a competitive spirit and Reco, the AI character that delivers news and hosts events.  Players will also be able to encounter Misa, the veteran who led the Ayato Shopping District Gunpla team in Gundam Breaker 3.

A new feature coming to the franchise is diorama mode.  This allows players to create elaborate scenarios with a variety of backgrounds, special effects and place their Gunpla creations in them (replete with their new two different weapons).

Look out for Gundam Breaker 4 arriving this August.
