Mutant slaying season arrives this July with Earl vs. the Mutants

May 28, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Falling State Inc. has announced that their top-down action-roguelite Earl vs. the Mutants will arrive on Steam for PC on 11th July.  A new trailer showing the post-apocalyptic mutant slaying action can be seen below….

In Earl vs. the Mutants players take the role of Earl, a mutant slayer in a post nuclear apocalypse world. Earl is a professional mutant slayer and likes to carry out his mutant pest control behind the wheel of a range of high-octane vehicles with lots of firepower.  Players will commandeer a range of vehicles and tackle the mutants head on.

In this roguelite game, players will forego the small dungeon-like environments and instead fight the hordes in large open battlefields where they will be able to practice donuts over mutant bodies.  The more mutants that players dispose of will unlock randomised upgrades, such as mounted weaponry and drones.  The more upgrades unlocked, the more deadly the vehicle becomes.

Featuring:

  • Quick runs averaging 10 minutes
  • Each run is different, powered by an expanding list of upgrades
  • Make progress across different runs with unlocked vehicles and permanent upgrades
  • Collide with enemies, don’t avoid
  • Navigate 3D environments and use the terrain to your advantage
  • Survive waves of mutant hordes then take on the their formidable bosses

Earl vs. the Mutants arrives on Steam on the 11th July.
