Neil Patrick Harris, best known for his role as Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, has joined the cast of American Horror Story: Freak Show. He will appear in Freak Show’s 11th and 12th episodes as a chameleon salesman, while his real life husband David Burtka will turn up in the season finale for “a sexy storyline with Jessica Lange’s batty chanteuse.”
Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of the show, has worked with Neil Patrick Harris in the past and have been looking to work together again. Murphy said a few months ago about a collaboration with Harris on Freak Show: “He had very specific ideas for what he wanted to do, and I had very specific ideas, so we’re working on melding those.”
Looks like the perfect role was arranged for Harris on the show.
American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays, 10 p.m. on FX.
