Netflix drops trailer for Bird Box spin-off Bird Box Barcelona

May 9, 2023 by Matt Rodgers

A direct sequel to Sandra Bullock blockbuster Bird Box, which was once Netflix’s most streamed movie of all time, has been in development for what seems like an eternity, but now thanks to the producers of the original we have a Spanish-language spin-off spreading onto the streaming service this summer.

Directed by The Last Days and Carriers helmers Alex and David Pastor, Bird Box Barcelona stars Mario Casas, Georgina Campbell, Alejandra Howard, Naila Schuberth, Diego Calva, Patrick Criado, Lola Duenas, Gonzalo De Castro, Michelle Jenner, and Leonardo Sbaraglia. Check out the trailer below….

From the producers of the global phenomenon, Bird Box, comes BIRD BOX BARCELONA, an expansion of the film that riveted audiences in 2018. After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona. As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they try to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.

Bird Box Barcelona streams on Netflix from July 14th, 2023.
