Netflix releases May December teaser starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore

September 5, 2023 by Ricky Church

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its drama May December starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore with Charles Melton. The film follows an actress researching the lives of a former teacher and her much younger husband years after their scandalous student-teacher affair with their secrets coming to light. Watch the teaser below…

The film is directed by Todd Haynes (Dark Waters) from a script by first time writer Samy Burch. It is set to open the New York Film Festival on September 29th and will open theatrically on November 17th. Following its theatrical release, Netflix will premiere it on December 1st.

In May December, “Portman plays TV star Elizabeth, who is researching a new part by ingratiating herself into the lives of Gracie (Moore), whom she’ll be playing onscreen, and her much-younger husband, Joe (Charles Melton). As Elizabeth attempts to get closer to the family, the uncomfortable facts of their scandal unfurl, causing difficult, long-dormant emotions to resurface.”

May December is produced by Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum for Gloria Sanchez, Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler, and Portman and Sophie Mas.
