Netflix sci-fi thriller series Cassandra gets a trailer and images

January 8, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

With just under a month to go until Cassandra arrives on Netflix, the streamer has released a trailer and images for the German sci-fi thriller series.

The series centres on a family who move into Germany’s oldest smart home 50 years after its owners passed away under mysterious circumstances, awakening its virtual assistant who will stop at nothing to keep the family there to avoid being left abandoned and alone again.

The cast includes Lavinia Wilson, Mina Tander, Michael Klammer, Franz Hartwig, Mary Tölle, Joshua Kantara, Elias Grünthal, and Filip Schnack. Watch the trailer below…

Since the owners died under mysterious circumstances over 50 years ago, Germany’s oldest smart home has stood empty. Today, when Samira moves in with her family, virtual assistant Cassandra awakens from her decades-long slumber. Developed in the 1970s to take care of a family and out of service after the death of the former occupants of the house, Cassandra now senses a second chance. However, she fancies herself as much more than a fairy godmother who keeps everything in order. Cassandra soon sees herself as an equal member of the family and does everything she can not to be left alone again – with all the means at her disposal.

Cassandra arrives on Netflix on February 6th.
