Netflix has rounded out the cast of Kennedy, its upcoming political drama series starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men: Days of Future Past) as Kennedy patriarch Joe Kennedy Sr.

Kennedy will explore the lives, loves, rivalries and tragedies of the Kennedy family. The eight-episode first season will begin in the 1930s and “charts the improbable ascent of Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children, including rebellious second son Jack, who struggles to escape the shadow of his golden boy older brother.”
Joining Fassbender in the series will be Laura Donnelly (The Nevers), Nick Robinson (Love, Simon), Joshua Melnick, Ben Miles (Andor), Lydia Peckham (Nuremberg), Saura Lightfoot-Leon (The Agency), Cole Doman (The Mastermind) and Imogen Poots (Hedda).

Donnelly will star as Rose Kennedy, the matriarch of the family, while Robinson will be their oldest son Joe Kennedy Jr. and Melnick as Jack Kennedy, the future President of the United States.
Miles will portray Eddie Moore, longtime aide to Joe Kennedy Sr., Peckham as Rosemary Kennedy, Joe and Rose’s eldest daughter, Lightfoot-Leon as Kick Kennedy, JFK and RFK’s sister, Doman as JFK’s best friend Lem Billings and Poots as Gloria Swanson.
The series is based on Fredrik Logevall’s book JFK: Coming of Age in the American Century, 1917-1956. It was created by Sam Shaw who serves as showrunner and will be directed by Thomas Vinterberg.
