New season of Star Trek Online coming this month

January 10, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios have announced that the 31st season of their free-to-play Star Trek MMORPG Star Trek Online: Both Worlds will be arriving on PC on 23rd January.  The season for Xbox and Playstation consoles will begin on 12th March. Star Trek Online will also be celebrating their 14th anniversary with the return of an anniversary event.

Star Trek Online: Both Worlds will continue with the previous season’s multiverse story involving the misunderstanding with the Tholians and the tearing of the Reality Vortex.  Players will need to infiltrate the Mirror Borg Unicomplex, sever the vortex and save the multiverse.  Sounds easy enough, right? Far from it, the Mirror Borg Unicomplex is a massive technological labyrinth guarded relentlessly by the Borg and at the heart of it is the Borg King, the architect of this insidious scheme to dominate the multiverse.

Throughout this new adventure, players will encounter some of the stars from the Star Trek franchise, including Captain Ezri Dax (voiced by Nicole de Boer from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Captain Harry Kim (voiced by Garret Wang from Star Trek: Voyager) and Admiral Kuumaarke (voiced by Kipleigh Brown from Star Trek: Enterprise).

Star Trek Online: Both Worlds features:

  • The Scorpions Abyss new episode that will take players deep into the Mirror Borg Complex.
  • New Task Force Operation – Relive the Battle of Wolf 359 in this new 5 player task force op’.
  • A Season 31 Event called King and Collective where players can play selected content to earn a new T6 ship.
  • Elite Random Task Force Operations Feature – A new QOL improvement that will provide players with the option to queue for Random Elite TFOs to score extra rewards.

Look out for Both Worlds coming to Star Trek Online later this month.
