Row K has shared a new trailer for director Gus Van Sant’s upcoming crime drama Dead Man’s Wire.
The film is inspired by the true story of the kidnappings that took place in 1977, when Tony Kiritsis (Bill Skarsgard), a desperate man who reached his breaking point, abducted the bank manager (Dacre Montgomery) who refused his mortgage payment extension request.
Joining Skarsgard and Montgomery in the cast are Colman Domingo, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, and Al Pacino. Watch the trailer below…
Based on a true story, the 1977 kidnapping of a prominent banker grips the nation and turns the abductor into an outlaw folk hero. As the media frenzy peaks, the standoff becomes a spectacle of desperation, defiance and blurred justice, which resonates even today.
Dead Man’s Wire arrives in cinemas January 2026.
