New trailer for Relay starring Riz Ahmed and Lily James

August 14, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

With just a week to go until the release of Relay, a 70s-inspired trailer has landed online for the new thriller from director David Mackenzie (Hell or High Water).

The film follows Ash (Riz Ahmed), a fixer that brokers payoffs between corrupt organisations and the individuals that threaten to end them, who chooses to change his own set of strict rules to protect the life of a potential client (Lily James) after receiving a mysterious message.

Joining Ahmed and James in the cast are Sam Worthington, Willa Fitzgerald, Jared Abrahamson, Victor Garber and Matthew Maher. Check out the trailer below…

In Relay, Riz Ahmed plays a world class “fixer” who specializes in brokering lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten their ruin. He keeps his identity a secret through meticulous planning and always follows an exacting set of rules. But when a message arrives one day from a potential client (Lily James) needing his protection just to stay alive, the rules quickly start to change.

Relay arrives in cinemas on August 22nd.
