New trailer for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown explores ‘what if?’ scenarios

October 16, 2025 by Andrew Newton

With the new Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown demo on Steam getting very positive reviews, Daedalic Entertainment and GameXcite have released a new trailer that looks at some of the different ways of completing missions. You can watch Timo, a developer from GameXcite, in this new trailer below….

Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown challenges players to get the U.S.S. Voyager back home to the Alpha Quadrant. There’s no right or wrong way of getting the ship and crew home; players can take the diplomatic route like Captain Janeway often did, or they can plough through the Delta Quadrant and to hell with the Prime Directive. Tackle the journey home in a way that suits you.

Players will have the opportunity to repair and reconstruct the Voyager thanks to the damage caused by the Caretaker. Damaged sections can be reconstructed to create crew quarters, industrial, ship systems, and research facilities. Talking of research, there are plenty of opportunities for research projects that were never mentioned in the TV series, including morale-boosting technology or the more dangerous Borg technology.

Away missions and ship combat are entirely under player control; choose the crew to beam over in any situation based on their skills, and decide whether to take the scientific approach or go in all phasers blazing. Whatever decision is made, there will be consequences, and not all characters will make it home.
