New Twilight book Midnight Sun confirmed by Stephenie Meyer

May 4, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Twelve years after canceling the project due to an online leak, Stephenie Meyer is returning to the Twilight franchise. Meyer announced she would finally publish Midnight Sun, a retelling of her bestselling series from vampire Edward Cullen’s perspective.

“I am very excited to finally, finally announce the release of Midnight Sun on August 4th,” Stephanie Meyer said in a prerecorded video broadcast on Good Morning America. “It’s a crazy time right now, and I wasn’t sure it was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so so long it didn’t seem right to make you wait anymore.”

The publisher of Midnight Sun, Little Brown, said the book would see Meyer draw on the classic myth of “Hades and Persephone” to revisit the love story of Edward the vampire and the mortal high school student Bella. Little Brown went on to call it “an epic novel about the profound pleasures and devastating consequences of immortal love.”

Midnight Sun is set for a global release on August 4th of 2020.
