New World is hopeful with upcoming changes

December 30, 2021 by admin

New World is taking it slow on its upcoming changes. Devs will take some time testing them out before patching them in game

It has been rough for New World for the past few months ever since its release. The popular MMORPG has been riddled with problems and issues that have taken their toll on its community and player base. Despite these setbacks, the Amazon-owned game is still one of the largest played MMOs only behind World of Warcraft and OSRS. New World devs are set on retaining their current players and inviting previous ones back to the game in order to enjoy the world of Aeternum and earn New World gold once again. With new content coming from the upcoming changes, people are hopeful that it’s the kick New World needs.

Enemy Modifiers

In the recent table talks with the gaming studio, devs have discussed the future of the game with fans as well as assuring the New World community that their feedbacks and criticisms have all been heard and will be addressed. Along with the discussion, devs have also announced that they intend to introduce enemy modifiers in-game to make the PvE scene more unique and interesting. These augments will be called Mutators and will provide various kinds of effects on different mobs. Mutators will add a new twist to players grinding for New World gold as they are presented with different challenges.

The mutators may include exploding mobs upon death, buffed or frenzied opponents, elites with unique skills, or mob auras with debuffs. The augments will be different every time, and they will be rotated every week. The augments are a great way to test out the in-game mechanics and skills of Aeternum’s residents. In addition, devs have stated that mutated mobs will have a chance or probability to drop greater loot than normal ones. The addition of mutators is the gaming studio’s way of answering criticism about New World having little variety.

However, players are still skeptical about this upcoming feature even though it hasn’t come out yet. Several gamers have expressed their doubts in the game’s official forum. As fans might recall, AGS scaled the difficulty of endgame PUI zones to a much harder level, so adding mob augments might make fighting opponents extremely harder. Whether the Mutator modification will be a hit or not will be determined once it is released.

Storyline Continuation and Other quests

For the past few months, New World has been stuck on the first few stages of its main storyline. The last quest that is connected to the main story of the game is The Tempest’s Heart which can only be unlocked at level 60. However, those who have already reached the end of the line are already looking for the next part of the narrative. The gaming studio has announced that they will be wrapping up the first chapter of New World and will be soon rolling out new questlines to continue New World’s tale. Developers have also stated that they will be releasing quests that make use of tradeskills, so some of these quests will require certain levels in specific tradeskills.

New Weapons

Aside from the continued storyline and new augments, the devs have also teased fans with two new weapons. The new weapons will feature the second firearm in the game, the Blunderbuss. It will have a different playstyle from the musket’s long-range oriented attacks. The Blunderbuss is said to be a mid to short-range combat weapon. Players are now hoping that the second firearm weapon will be more chaotic and have lots of explosions.

The second weapon being teased is said to be a greatsword. There are already a variety of bladed weapons in the game, but it has been teased that this new greatsword will feature a stance-switching feature. What this means is still unclear, so fans will have to wait till the weapons are patched in.

Fast Travel Updates

Fast Travel has been an existing feature in New World since its launch. The only update on this end is that more travel shrines will be introduced to the game. It is unclear when these additional shrines will be implemented in the game.

Devs Are Taking It Slow

Despite these announcements, Amazon Games have stated that they are not in a hurry to patch these new contents in the game. Devs have stated that their blistering pace in pumping new content has caused several issues and backlash from the community. The development team will do more testing on these new upcoming features to make sure they are in the best possible shape when they are released to the community. In the meantime, residents of Aeternum can enjoy the current Winter Convergence Festival and earn New World gold from the event.
