Nick Tarabay joins Pacific Rim: Maelstrom

November 12, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this week star and co-producer John Boyega announced that filming is underway on Pacific Rim: Maelstrom, the upcoming sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 sci-fi action epic, and now Variety is reporting that Spartacus star Nick Tarabay has joined the cast in an as-yet-unrevealed role.

Maelstrom will reunite Tarabay with former Spartacus showrunner Steven S. DeKnight, who is directing the film. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but we do know that Boyega is portraying the son of Idris Elba’s character Stacker Pentecost, and he will be joined in the cast by Adria Arjona (True Detective), Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Cailee Spaeny (Counting to 1,000), Levi Meaden (Aftermath) and Jing Tian (Police Story: Lockdown).

Pacific Rim: Maelstrom is set for release on February 23rd 2018.
