Nicole Kidman says “absolutely no prospects right now” for Big Little Lies season 2

June 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Although the cast of HBO’s Big Little Lies have previously expressed an interest in returning for a second season, and author Liane Moriarty has revealed that she’s currently working on ideas, star Nicole Kidman has now downplayed the possibility of more episodes.

“It was a book so it was pretty finite,” Kidman told Variety. “We got the taste for it, so we’re like, ‘Oh, what a pity.’ You never know, you always hope, but there’s no story, there is absolutely no prospects right now.”

Kidman’s comments echo those of director Jean-Marc Vallee, although he did go a little further, stating that “there’s no reason to make a season two” and that the series had “the perfect ending.”

That being said, “no prospects right now” does not rule out the possibility of a second season somewhere down the line, and it seems clear that the cast are eager to return should the opportunity arise.
