Nicole Kidman has signed on to star in The Silent Wife, an adaptation of the bestselling book by A.S.A. Harrison, which will be directed by Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction, 9 1/2 Weeks) from a script by Billy Ray (Captain Phillips).
The suspense thriller will see Kidman as “a dedicated wife who, despite her husband Todd’s frequent indiscretions, continues to play the dutiful spouse. When confronted with the brutal truth of him leaving her for a younger woman, Jodi will not accept defeat. What begins as a tragic dissolution of a marriage quickly spirals into a game of cat and mouse with calamitous stakes.
Kidman will next be seen in Secret in Their Eyes, which is written and directed by Billy Ray and opens in the States later this month.
