Nominations announced for the British Independent Film Awards 2017

Lady Macbeth topped the list of nominations for the 2017 British Independent Film Awards, which announced this morning by Maisie Williams and Hayley Squires.

Among its nominations are Best British Independent Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Debut Screenwriter, Breakthrough Producer, Debut Director, Best Actress (Florence Pugh), Best Supporting Actress (Naomi Ackie) and Most Promising Newcomer (Naomi Ackie and Cosmo Jarvis).

The Death of Stalin and I Am Not a Witch are nominated in 13 categories apiece, with God’s Own Country and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri each nominated 11 times.
