Ozark has been renewed for a fourth and final season

July 1, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Netflix’s dark crime drama Ozark has been renewed for a fourth and final season.

Ozark has been a big success for Netflix, both with audiences and critics – picking up 14 Emmy nominations since its first season in 2017.

The Jason Bateman starring show will be coming to an end, however, with its fourth and final season. The fourth season will feature more episodes than normal – 14 in total – and will be split into two parts.

Showrunner Chris Mundy expressed his delight about the news (via Variety): “We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving ‘Ozark’ more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right. It’s been such a great adventure for all of us — both on screen and off — so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.”

Jason Bateman, who also is a creative force behind the scenes for the show, has said: “A super-sized season means super-sized problems for the Byrdes. I’m excited to end with a bang(s).”

Hopefully, the final season will end the series on a high note and that it won’t be too long before we get to see how the Byrdes’ story concludes.
