Parasol Superstars to bring retro classics to consoles this September

May 16, 2025 by Andrew Newton

ININ Games will be causing a nostalgia and cuteness overload this September as they will be releasing Parasol Superstars digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox, with a physical release arriving for Nintendo Switch and PS5. Parasol Superstars will feature the highly praised Parasol Stars and the retro-inspired platformer Spica Adventure, which is new to western gamers and also getting it’s own digital release on 30th September.

Back in the 1980s, TAITO released Bubble Bobble in the arcades, this was then followed a few years later by Rainbow Islands, which continued the adventures of Bub and Bob. Finally, they released Parasol Stars and once again the antics of the two lovable characters, this time armed with magical parasols, captivated gamers around the world with its colourful, cute and quirky gameplay.

In this bundle, Parasol Stars has been faithfully restored with modern enhancements and quality-of-life improvements, and of course, the 2-player co-op mode remains.

Joining the bundle is the fast-paced platformer Spica Adventure which has never been available outside of Japan. Now, for the first time ever, western gamers can enjoy the adventures of Nico, a fearless girl exploring the stars.

Parasol Superstars will release digitally and physically on 16th September. A Special Edition will also be available and feature bonus content, including an History Artbook and a Soundtrack of both games.
