Past Lives and Beef lead winners of the 2024 Independent Spirit Awards

As awards season marches on towards the Oscars, the winners of the 2024 Independent Spirit Awards were announced in Santa Monica, California last night, with filmmaker Celine Song celebrating double success as her romantic drama Past Lives picked up the Best Picture gong while she was also recognised with Best Director.

Elsewhere in the film field, there were wins for Jeffrey Wright (Best Lead Performance for American Fiction) and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Best Supporting Performance for The Holdovers), while on the TV side Beef was named Best New Scripted Series, with Ali Wong also receiving the award for Best Lead Performance; check out all the winners here…
