Patrick Wilson excited to work with James Wan and Jason Momoa on Aquaman

December 17, 2016 by James Garcia

Earlier this week, Watchmen actor Patrick Wilson was cast as Ocean Master – the half-brother of Arthur Curry – in the upcoming Aquaman solo film. His casting reunites him not only with the DC Extended Universe (he was the voice of the President of the United States in this year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice), but with The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 director James Wan, something he touched on in a new interview.

When talking to WBT Radio about his new film The Hollow Point, he talked a bit about his excitement to work with Wan again:

“I’m completely biased with James Wan, who I’ve done four films with – knowing that he’s at the helm and knowing what he… can do and what he will do, I’ll do anything with him. What’s gonna be interesting is there hasn’t been the technology to back up the storytelling, I guess, for Aquaman until now.”

Part of the film’s allure was Aquaman’s lower-profile in the larger superhero landscape, and the chance to work with Jason Momoa:

“I think the lure of Aquaman [is] because he hasn’t been overexposed on screen. And I don’t know Jason – I can’t wait to meet him. I was a huge fan of his from the first episode of Game of Thrones so I’m in – I’m in with him, and he’s gonna be fantastic.”

Aquaman is set for release on October 5th, 2018 and also stars Amber Heard as Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko (a role he’ll be reprising after appearing in Justice League).
