Paul Rudd and Rashida Jones close to signing on for Ant-Man?

October 24, 2013 by admin

Last week it was reported that Paul Rudd (This Is Forty, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises, Don Jon) were in the running to play Hank Pym in Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man, with the latter said to be “in talks.”

However, according to Schmoes Know – who earlier this week correctly reported of the return of Tim Burton to Beetlejuice – Paul Rudd is very close to signing on to star as Hank Pym. Personally, I would rather watch Rudd take on the role of the charismatic superhero rather than Gordon-Levitt, who although incredibly talented, feels like a lazy choice.

Schmoes have also reported that Rudd’s I Love You Man co-star Rashida Jones is in talks to star as Janet van Dyne, who will later become The Wasp. Rudd and Jones have incredibly chemistry in I Love You Man and to see the two interact once again would make Ant-Man one of the staples of 2015. Although Schmoes puts this down as more of a rumour, if Rudd and Jones are cast then Ant-Man could be THE great Marvel film.

Ant-Man is set for release on July 31st 2015.
