Paul Rudd, the co-star of Ant-Man and the Wasp, has revealed how his character has changed since we last saw him.
Ant-Man hasn’t been limited to the 2015 feature film that bears his name, as Paul Rudd’s character has also turned up in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. Ant-Man can next be seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp but what has changed about the character since then?
Paul Rudd has spoken about Ant-Man’s evolution at a press conference in Taiwan (via NDTV): “Well, the character’s story has evolved ever since Civil War. Scott went away to fight with some of the Avengers and now I’m starting this film under house arrest so I am really, whereas, in the first one, I was deciding whether or not this was something even of interest to me, I don’t know if I want to be a superhero, that has enhanced even more, I’d say.”
Rudd has also spoken about changes to his relationship with Hope Van Dyne, aka The Wasp: “What certainly you’ll see this relationship evolve, between Scott and Hope, as well as this relationship that I have with my daughter. My daughter Cassie, this is really the biggest challenge. How do you somehow be the best version of yourself as a superhero while being the best version of yourself as a parent and can those two things coexist?”
Are you looking forward to seeing more of Ant-Man? Considering the character was entirely absent during Avengers: Infinity War, it certainly feels like a while since we caught up with him.

Ant-Man and The Wasp sees Peyton Reed returning to the director’s chair and stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michael Pena (Luis), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang), Judy Greer (Maggie), Bobby Cannavale (Paxton) and T.I. (Dave), while new additions to the cast include Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
