Peter Berg working on a sequel to The Rundown

December 9, 2013 by admin

Fans of Peter Berg’s The Rundown should rejoice for the director has revealed that he is currently developing a sequel to the Dwayne Johnson / Seann William Scott action comedy.

Although it was met with an almost universal shrug of the shoulders from critics, the 2003 film has seemingly become a cult classic and Berg has discussed the possibility of a follow-up while on the press junket for his latest film Lone Survivor.

“We just met with writers, so we’re trying to do it,” Berg tells Collider. “I really want to do it. I’ve talked to Dwayne. I have an actor in mind that I can’t say that I want to work with Dwayne on it, and we want to do it.”

Any chance of the film actually being released would have to wait, with Berg currently attached to direct American Desperado with Lone Survivor star Mark Wahlberg. Meanwhile, Lone Survivor is set for release in the US on January 10th 2014 and the UK on January 31st 2014, with a cast that also includes Taylor Kitsch, Ben Foster, Emile Hirsch and Eric Bana.
