Peter Dinklage and Evan Peters talk X-Men: Days of Future Past

October 1, 2013 by admin

Once we get a little closer to the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past, it’s going to be insanely difficult to keep track of all the actors talking about the latest instalment in Fox’s X-Men franchise, seeing as Bryan Singer has brought together virtually every X-Man ever to don a costume for the time-travelling mutant epic. Of course, with the film just coming out of its shoot and entering the post-production stage it’s relatively quiet at the moment, but we do have comments from two newcomers to the cast, with Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Evan Peters (American Horror Story) speaking about their respective characters Bolivar Trask and Quicksilver.

“I didn’t want to play the villain,” reveals Dinklage, referring to his role as the creator of the fearsome mutant killing machines, the Sentinels. “He’s a man of science. He’s a man of invention. He actually sees what he’s doing as a good thing — [his ambition is] definitely blind and he’s quite arrogant. He’s strove all his life for a certain respect and attention.”

“They used motion capture,” states Peters, with regards to how Singer has realised Quicksilver’s speed powers. “I don’t know what I can say about it and not get in trouble, I really don’t. But they shot a lot of slow motion. They brought in an amazing camera, the Phantom — it’s, like, 3600 frames per second. They brought in these huge, bright lights and did some amazing, amazing stuff with it. I’m excited to see it all cut together and check all that out. It’s going to be really cool.”

X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for release on May 23rd 2014, with a cast that includes X-veterans Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), James McAvoy (Young Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Young Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Lucas Till (Havok), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) alongside series newcomers Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) as Warpath, Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Bishop, Fan Binbing (Iron Man 3) as Blink and Adam Canto (The Following) as Sunspot.
