Pilou Asbæk cast as Euron Greyjoy in Game of Thrones season 6

September 2, 2015 by Gary Collinson

HBO has found its Euron Greyjoy for Game of Thrones season 6, with Danish actor Pilou Asbæk (Borgen) securing the role of Balon Greyjoy’s (Patrick Malahide) younger brother, and uncle to Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara (Gemma Whelan).

Asbæk becomes the latest addition to the ensemble cast of the epic fantasy series, with Max Von Sydow (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) taking over the role of the Three-Eyed Raven, Ian McShane (Deadwood) set for an as-yet-unrevealed role, and newcomer Sebastian Croft reportedly appearing as a young Ned Stark.
