April 12, 2021 by Gary Collinson

With filming on Powerpuff now underway, a spy photo from the set of The CW’s live-action Powerpuff Girls series has made its way online giving us our first look at Dove Cameron (Descendants), Yana Perrault (Jagged Little Pill) and Chloe Bennet (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as the now-adult superhero sisters Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom.

The live-action series has been created by Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier and series as a sequel to the Cartoon Network animated show, with Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup now disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crimefighting. Will they agree to reunite now that the world needs them more than ever?

Along with Bennet, Cameron and Perreault, the series will star Donald Faison (Scrubs) as Professor Utonium, Nicholas Podany (Hart of Dixie) as Mojo Jojo Jr, and Robyn Lively (Light As A Feather) as Sara Bellum. Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) will once again serve as narrator, having done so on the original series and its 2016 animated revival.
