Psychological horror What Happened comes to Steam this July

May 7, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Indie developer Genius Slacker and publisher Katnappe has announced they will be releasing their first person psychological horror, What Happened, on Steam for PC this July.  What Happened will lead players through the mind of a student struggling to cope with his personal demons.  Check out the new trailer below…

In What Happened players follow the story of Stiles, a high school student suffering from acute anxiety and depression.  Stiles’ thoughts are dark and cruel and constantly lure him down a path of self destruction. It is up to players to help Stiles through the dark corridors of his mind where twisted memories line the walls and save him from his personal demons, both real and imagined by solving puzzles.

Featuring:

  • Unique first person perspective on an individual’s journey through anxiety and depression.
  • An atmospheric world filled with a mix of waking nightmares and distorted memories.
  • Environmental puzzles that will lead players through the twisted corridors of a teenager’s mind.
  • The empathy shown for the character will subtly affect the outcome of his journey.
