Rag doll physics and more in the new Alpha 17 video for 7 Days to Die

December 3, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Another video from Joel Huenink of The Fun Pimp is available for 7 Days to Die fans to watch and showcases new rag doll physics, the new stag and doe and much more.  Watch this new video below…

Alpha 17 will bring brand new rag doll physics effects on both zombies and animals.  In the video Joel uses both a motorbike and car to run zombies over so we can see how they bounce off the car’s bonnet (very satisfying to see by the way).  This new physics effect is a great improvement over the current situation where the zombies just get knocked down.  The same physics will apply to animals when they are shot, ran over, fall down hills etc.

With the bear getting a new look in the previous Alpha, Alpha 17 will provide a new skin for the stag, not only that but we will also be treated to a doe as well.  Although I personally think the stag looks a little short and stumpy at the moment, especially in the leg department so hopefully The Fun Pimps will do a bit of work on that.  Fur textures have also been improved to provide a more realistic look.

There will be big changes made to stats with big changes to Health and Stamina, the removal of Wellness and the addition of attributes such as strength and fortitude.  A new Buff system will also be introduced.

Finally, Joel ends the video with a glimpse at some new houses and bungalows, specifically new sidings, trims, wallpapers, wainscotting and a new bath.
