Girl Group will follow Wilson as “a pop diva who’s been kicked out of her own girl group’s reunion tour and slapped with a sentence of court-ordered community service, but seizes the chance to stage a comeback by coaching a group of misfit teen girls for a major record label audition.”
Also featuring in the upcoming film is Randall Park (WandaVision), Sheridan Smith (Gavin & Stacey), Jamie-Lee O’Donnell (Derry Girls), Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen), Jolene (Star Trek: Enterprise) and Loren Gray (Incoming). It will also feature several singers and pop stars appearing as Wilson’s former groupmates from her old group, including Pussycat Doll’s Ashley Roberts, Spice Girl’s Melanie Chisholm and All Saints’ Shaznay Lewis as the girlband Girlfriends.
The film will be Wilson’s directorial debut and her screenwriting debut for a feature film. She will produce through her company Camp Sugar alongside Matt Williams for Future Arts Enertainment with Live Nation Studios executive producing.
