Rexy the T-Rex confirmed for Jurassic World sequel

April 6, 2017 by Gary Collinson

This probably won’t come as much of a surprise given how she’s such an iconic part of the series, but writer and producer Colin Trevorrow has confirmed on Twitter that Rexy the T-Rex will be returning for the currently-in-productions sequel to Jurassic World.

Confirmed. Tell her when she wakes up. https://t.co/d39LBJ7LK5

Rexy made her first appearance in Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park back in 1993, before making her triumphant return in Jurassic World as she battled the Indominus Rex. And, given that she’s set to feature in Jurassic World 2, it presumably means we’ll be paying another visit to Isla Nublar in the sequel…

The as-yet-untitled Jurassic World sequel is set for release on June 22nd, 2018 and sees J.A. Bayona directing a cast that includes returning Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and BD Wong alongside Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Rafe Spall (Black Mirror), Justice Smith (The Get Down), Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs), James Cromwell (The Young Pope), Daniella Pineda (The Detour) and Geraldine Chaplin (A Monster Calls).
