Ridley Scott teases his plans for the next Alien movie

October 11, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Although 20th Century Fox is said to be “reassessing” the future of the Alien franchise following less-than-expected box office takings for this year’s Alien: Covenant, but director Ridley Scott seems confident that we’ll get at least one more instalment, and has even been teasing the storyline in an interview with Empire.

“I think the evolution of the Alien himself is nearly over, but what I was trying to do was transcend and move to another story, which would be taken over by A.I.’s,” said Scott. “The world that the AI might create as a leader if he finds himself on a new planet. We have actually quite a big layout for the next one.”

Do you think Scott could save the Alien franchise by shifting the focus away from the xenomorphs to another story, or is it time that the filmmaker left the series alone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
