Rob Liefeld slams Marvel Studios, says there is “zero” plans for Deadpool

May 12, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Late last year, Ryan Reynolds spoke about a potential Deadpool movie in the works with Marvel Studios, saying, “yeah, we’re working on it right now with the whole team.” However, according to Deadpool comic book co-creator Rob Liefeld, that may not be the case after all

In an interview with YouTube channel Inverse, Liefeld got candid about Marvel Studios and their lack of plans for the character, stating: “I can’t gloss it up. You want to know the plan with Deadpool right now? They have a goose egg, zero, zero.”

The ever-so-outspoken comic book creator went further and spoke about his overall issues with the plan for Marvel Studios going forward. Holding nothing back, Liefeld says, “I’m not really that crazy about Marvel’s plan right now.”

He continues, “It’s the first time I go, ‘Hey, [Kevin] Feige, did you even have a plan? Your plan was Eternals and Shang-Chi? That was your plan? And Black Widow? So they close the door, Chris Evans says goodbye, Robert Downey Jr. says goodbye, Black Widow falls off a cliff says goodbye, they almost lose Tom Holland to Sony… but you’re a genius, Marvel. You’re geniuses.”

Marvel Studios recently announced its re-dated schedule for films and television shows, which includes projects up to 2022. Deadpool is currently not on the slate, with no official word on development from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.
