Rosamund Pike to headline Pablo Larrain-produced virus thriller Rich Flu

February 4, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

A wave of timely virus themed movies was inevitable, and so comes the news that Gone Girl Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike is set to lead a virus based thriller titled Rich Flu.

Directed by Spanish filmmaker Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia (The Platform), The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Rich Flu will feature a deadly disease that starts killing off the wealthy.

The film is being produced by Spencer and Jackie director Pablo Larraín, alongside Juan de Dios Larraín via their Fabula banner.

According to the report ‘Rich Flu sees a strange disease killing off some of the richest and most influential people on the planet starting with the billionaires, then the multi-millionaires and so on progressively. Now it threatens to strike anyone with any sort of fortune, and no one knows where it might end. With the whole planet panicking and humankind’s very way of life headed for collapse, people attempt to flood the market with assets the world no longer wants. The thriller explores how far one would go to save their skin when the wealth that made the world go round suddenly becomes its most dangerous commodity.’

Rosamund Pike, who can currently be seen in Amazon’s fantasy series The Wheel of Time, is something of a quality indicator these days, but what do think about the premise for Rich Flu? Let us know by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
