Rumour: X-23 could appear in Wolverine 3

April 21, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Originally published April 21, 2016. Updated April 15, 2018.

According to SuperHeroHype, the character of X-23 could be set to make her big screen debut in next year’s as-yet-untitled Wolverine 3, which will reportedly mark Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Logan.

The site claims that they have heard that X-23 will join Jackman’s Wolverine and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X for their journey in the sequel, although they stress it’s unconfirmed – which could also mean it’s just speculation to begin with.

X-23 was created by Craig Kyle for the animated series X-Men: Evolution and made her comic book debut in 2004. A female clone of Logan, X-23 has been a member of both X-Force and the X-Men, and recently took on the mantle of Wolverine for the All-New, All-Different Marvel relaunch.

Could Fox be hoping that X-23 can take over as Wolverine in the movie franchise after Jackman hangs up his claws rather than recasting Logan? Would you like to see a female Wolverine in the movie franchise? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
