Ryan Gosling discusses the Blade Runner sequel

May 15, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Originally published May 15, 2016. Updated April 15, 2018.

With filming on Blade Runner 2 set to get underway this July, Entertainment Weekly caught up with star Ryan Gosling to try and prise some information from him regarding the follow-up to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic.

“I’m looking around as you say that, because I think there’s a sniper up there in the corner if I say too much,” said Gosling, who went on to expect what drew him to the sequel. “I’m a huge fan of the original and thought – just as a fan of it – that Ridley and Harrison Ford wanted to extend that story was exciting. Then to be asked to be a part of that and help tell that story in some way felt like such a great opportunity.”

Blade Runner 2 is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Enemy) and will see Ford and Gosling joined in the cast by Robin Wright (House of Cards), Ana de Armas (Knock Knock), Dave Bautista (Spectre) and Carla Juri (Wetlands). It is set for release on October 6th, 2017.
