S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Playstation 5 trailer reveals November release date

August 21, 2025 by Andrew Newton

After a year since it’s initial release on PC and Xbox Series X|S, GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch on PlayStation 5 on 20th November. The PS5 version will launch with a range of features, such as Adaptive Triggers, Haptic Feedback Support, and much more. A new trailer can be seen below showcasing some of the new features that take advantage of the PS5’s tech’.

For Playstation 5 gamers, Skif’s journey through the Chornobyl Anomalous Zone will have a truly immersive feel, thanks to fully optimised features, including: Adaptive Triggers and Haptic Feedback Support, Gyro Aiming through Motion Sensor, Speakers, Lightbar, and Touchpad Gesture Utilisation, and Tempest 3D Audio. Players with a PlayStation 5 Pro can also look forward to improved shadow quality and resolution, enhanced global illumination, higher-quality reflections, improved volumetric fog and enhanced volumetric cloud rendering.

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the second massive explosion in the year 2006 completely changed the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, creating violent mutants, deadly anomalies, and different factions vying for control, resources and the valuable artifacts that have lured many people (known as S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s) to the region.

As one of these S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, players will follow a non-linear branching storyline that will take them across an open world in a 64-km² radioactive zone spread over a variety of environments transformed by the apocalyptic event.

Encounter numerous mutated creatures that will try to permanently stop your search for the valuable artifacts. Fortunately, there are more than 30 types of weapons with many different modifications that can be used to stop them before they stop you.

Hunting down these artifacts will commence for PS5 players on 20th November.
